I find that my skin looks very healthy when I have a tan....but with that tan comes risks.....skin cancer............Is it true that sun tan evens your skin's color and leaves a glowing skin?

Don't go tanning.

Its reely bad for you! The suns rays have UV rays which can cause skin cancer and bad burns. Use a tanning lotion or bronzer, theres less risks to using them.

Good luck
I use to natural tan all the time. It all depends on your skin. I have a natural dark skin which tans very nice. I would not say a bronze but a brown and that was with using a bronzer. depending on what your light and dark spots are from it may or may not. if they are scars they will not even out and if they are skin spots they will tan differently as well.

The bronzer helps to tan more evenly, but that is on my skin type. I usually go out the first time using no lotion, (usually burn this time) let the burn go down then I start using the bronzer. Then I tan for the rest of the summer. Oh and one more thing very important. . . The bronzer is not a sunscreen if you have the skin that burns all the time do not use it.
NO!!!! tanning dries out your skin as the suns rays dehydrate it !!!! do not try and get rid of dark spots or even out skin tone this way!! if you want a bronzed shimmering look - use a fake tan or shimmer lotion eg palmers cocoa butter. on your face use a primer (smashbox is best) and a balancing moistuiser (these are usually green to counteract redness) and no7 have a great one.
If u r ebony sun will not make your skin bronze..i.e answer depends on your skin type. If light spots are due to eczema or mycosis (fungal) Rays will not even colour
i don't think so,

maybe it hurt if you do
nope ... it will only give you spots as you get older.
no it just turns u oarnge
You'll look marvelous. Yes, even color and glowing skin. But don't over-do it. Excessive unprotected sun exposure does cause skin cancer - when you're about 50-60! Get a tan, not a burn. Frequent breaks and plenty of water. Oil up well to re-moisturize your cells so you don't end up with premature aging from over-drying your skin.

UV sunlight has been proven to kill the bacteria associated with acne - so it will help clear your skin of acne, too!

To those afraid of the 'sun', the chemicals in conventional body care products are causing skin cancer faster than a speeding bullet. Our kids are indoors and terrified of the sun, we've put sunblock on them all their lives.

BUT the age of first incidence of skin cancer is dropping like a stone. Women of higher incomes, those more likely to buy tons of 'products', are the highest risk group and are getting skin cancer in their 30's, 20's and even teens. Skin cancer rates have almost tripled in the last 30 years. If all that sunblock didn't cut down on the skin cancer rate over all these years, it must be something else...

Consider this:

~ Benzoyl peroxide dramatically increases the risk of skin cancer.

~ Salicylic acid dramatically increases the risk of skin cancer.

~ Glycolic acid dramatically increases the risk of skin cancer.

~ Skin cancer rates have almost tripled in the last thirty years.

~ The age of first onset of skin cancer continues to drop.

~ Billions of gallons of sunblock has NOT reduced skin cancer rates - these rates continue to skyrocket and the age of first onset continues to decline. In addition, children spend less time outdoors than any previous generation.

And none of these risks are noted on the labels. Get some sun, but avoid the chemicals.
